TOMORROW – Hackney Film Festival

With over 150 film submissions it is fair to say that we’ve been

overwhelmed (but not surprised) by the massive amount of film-making
talent Hackney has to offer. As promised, we’ve scheduled a programme
consisting exclusively of work by Hackney-based directors and we’re
thrilled to be able to finally release the line-up.

Saturday, 18th September, will see the festival open with ‘Kingsland’, the
BAFTA-nominated short film from award-winning screenwriter and director –
and long-time Hackney resident – Tony Grisoni, as part of an eclectic
screening of short narrative, documentary and animated films at the Rio
Cinema on Kingsland Rd at 3.45pm. An equally diverse screening will show
the following day, Sunday 19th September at 3pm at The Drop@Three Crowns
on Stoke Newington High Street.

As well as the two screening events, there will also be an evening of live
audio-visual performances on the Saturday starting at 7pm at The Others,
6-8 Manor Road, Stoke Newington. The evening will include the acclaimed 80
minutes ‘True Fictions’ live cinema performance by The Light Surgeons, and
live spectacles by Hackney-based visual artists Quayola and Tom White.

Tickets for both the Rio Cinema screening and The Others party are only
£5, with the Sunday screening at a very reasonable price of FREE!!
